Virgin Powdered Activated Carbon (PAC)

Riley Equipment Company's line of Virgin Powdered Activated Carbon (PAC) is made from a selected grade of bituminous coal and is produced under rigidly controlled conditions. The virgin powder activated carbon has an excellent distribution of macro-pores and micro-pores which are highly suitable for use in waste treatment and all liquid phase applications.

Virgin powdered activated carbon can be used for the promotion of oxidation, reduction and elimination reactions.

RECO manufacturers virgin powdered activated carbon to be ANSI/NSF Standard 61 classified suitable for drinking water and food-grade applications.

Virgin Powdered Carbon Applications

Virgin powdered activated carbon can be used for all liquid phase filtration applications. It is commonly used to filter chloramines and organic compounds, including pesticides and herbicides, from drinking water.

Additional applications include:

  • Dechlorination/chloramine reduction
  • Removal of organic contaminants
  • Taste and odor reduction
  • Disinfection-by-product (DBP) removal

PAC can be used in cartridge manufacturing for potable water, beverage water, medication and more. Some of the different industries that benefit from using virgin powder activated carbon include:
