Industrial Liquid Filtration Systems Built for Demanding Applications

Since 1985, Riley Equipment Company (RECO) has designed and manufactured industrial liquid filtration systems for facilities that cannot afford downtime or inconsistent water quality. From activated carbon vessels to cartridge and bag filter housings, we supply the equipment, media, and ongoing support that plant managers and OEMs need to keep operations running.

Our liquid filtration equipment removes dissolved organic compounds, particulate matter, chemicals, and contaminants from process water, wastewater, and other liquid streams. Every system we supply is backed by engineering support, on-site service capabilities, and decades of hands-on experience across industries, including oil and gas, water treatment, food and beverage, pulp and paper, and more.

Whether you need a standard bag filter housing for high-flow applications or a fully custom particle filtration system engineered for a specific contaminant profile, we work directly with your team to specify, build, and deliver equipment that fits your process requirements.

Liquid Filtration Equipment for Every Stage of Your Process

Effective liquid filtration rarely comes down to a single piece of equipment. Most facilities require a combination of vessels, housings, and filter media working together to achieve the required level of particle removal and fluid purity. As an established liquid filtration equipment manufacturer, we offer a complete product line that covers each stage of the filtration process.

Liquid Filtration Vessels and RL Series Units

Our liquid phase GAC vessels treat contaminated water by removing dissolved organic compounds through activated carbon media. They are available for rent or purchase, providing flexibility for outages, emergencies, or pilot testing.

The RL Series is designed for liquid stream applications, featuring epoxy-lined carbon steel, PVC internals, and an epoxy mastic exterior for durability in aggressive conditions. These units support various media, including activated carbon, zeolites, specialty clay, and sand/anthracite, allowing configuration for diverse contaminant removal needs.

Bag Filter Housings & Liquid Filter Bags

We offer industrial-grade bag filter housings for flow rates from 5 to 225 GPM. Units are rated to 150 PSI at 200°F and available in carbon steel, 304 stainless steel, and 316 stainless steel. Standard features include quick-open clamps, drain ports, gauge ports, and lid vents for efficient operation and maintenance.

Liquid filter bags are available from 1 to 1,000 microns, with eight media options and 15 top ring configurations. Options include standard and multi-layer designs, such as the Maximum Dirt Loading bag with 890 cubic inches of depth filtration for longer service life and improved oil removal. All bags are made in the USA and fit industry-standard housings.

Cartridge Filter Housings and Filter Cartridges

For finer particle removal and higher efficiency, our Industrial Liquid Filtration Systems include cartridge filter housings compatible with a full range of cartridge types. Housings are available in 10, 20, 30, and 40-inch sizes, with flow rates from 2 to 500 GPM. They are rated to 150 PSI at 200°F and feature quick-open clamps, drain ports, gauge ports, and Buna-N seals as standard.

We offer cartridge options to fit your application, including carbon block, membrane, high efficiency pleated, high flow, melt blown, standard pleated, string wound, and stainless steel. Membrane cartridges provide absolute filtration down to 0.02 microns for high-purity requirements.

Custom Particle Filtration Systems Designed Around Your Process

Not every filtration challenge fits a catalog solution. Process variables such as fluid viscosity, operating temperature, contaminant loading, chemical compatibility, and space constraints all affect equipment selection. As an experienced liquid filtration equipment manufacturer, we design custom particle filtration systems when standard configurations are not sufficient.

Our engineering team works with plant managers, process engineers, and OEMs to define filtration requirements including target contaminants, flow rates, allowable pressure drop, and regulatory standards. Using this information, we configure vessel design, housing, filter media, and materials to build reliable industrial liquid filtration systems.

Systems can range from single-vessel units to multi-stage filtration trains that integrate pre-filtration, activated carbon adsorption, and final polishing. For OEMs integrating filtration into skids or packaged systems, we also adapt vessel dimensions, connections, and mounting configurations to simplify installation and reduce field modifications.

Activated Carbon Media for Liquid Phase Applications

Filtration performance depends on the media inside the system. We supply a full line of liquid phase activated carbon to pair with our vessels and filtration systems, ensuring proper media selection for effective contaminant removal.

Our liquid phase carbon products include:

Activated carbon removes contaminants through adsorption, capturing dissolved organics, chlorine, chloramines, PFOA/PFOS, pesticides, and more as liquid passes through the media bed. Carbon selection, coal-based vs. coconut shell, depends on contaminant type, contact time, and operating conditions.

Using the wrong carbon can reduce performance and increase costs. Our team helps match the right media to your application based on water chemistry, flow, and treatment goals.

Ongoing Service and Media Maintenance

Industrial liquid filtration systems require routine maintenance to ensure performance and prevent downtime. Media becomes exhausted, filters need scheduled replacement, and vessel internals should be inspected for corrosion or fouling.

We provide hands-on media and filter maintenance services across Texas and Mississippi.

Our service programs include:

We also offer media life analysis testing to determine remaining carbon capacity, allowing change-outs based on actual performance rather than fixed schedules.

Our OSHA-trained technicians follow strict safety standards on every job. Whether for one-time service or ongoing maintenance, we keep your system operating efficiently and minimize unnecessary downtime.

Industries That Rely on Our Liquid Filtration Equipment

Our industrial liquid filtration systems are installed across a wide range of sectors where water purity, process fluid quality, or regulatory compliance is critical. Each industry presents unique filtration challenges, and we configure equipment and media selections to address them.

  • In oil and gas refining, our liquid filtration vessels remove dissolved hydrocarbons and particulate from process water and produced water streams.
  • Water and wastewater treatment facilities use our GAC vessels and multi-media systems to reduce chemicals, PFOA/PFOS, pesticides, and other regulated contaminants to meet discharge and drinking water standards.
  • Food and beverage producers rely on our filtration equipment to remove off-tastes, odors, and color from process water, protecting product quality and consistency.
  • In pulp and paper operations, our systems handle the removal of organic compounds from process and effluent water.

We also serve facilities at airports, laboratories, and other commercial settings where air and water quality standards must be maintained consistently.
